Ohio’s Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD)
Ohio’s Alternate Assessment for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities (AASCD) is aligned to Ohio’s Learning Standards–Extended (OLS-E) and designed to allow students with significant cognitive disabilities to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in an appropriately rigorous assessment. The AASCD will be administered by grade band (3-5, 6-8, HS).
Purpose of Training: After the full-day training session participants will be able to:
Administer the Ohio AASCD
Place students accurately
Score the Ohio AASCD
Refresher
A half-day session will be offered for staff who wish to be retrained or revisit key administration policies and procedures.
Personnel who have previously been trained and administered the AASCD are not required to attend the training this year.
