8:00 am - 3:00 pm
Where:

Why:
While there are dozens of ways to learn the stories of gifted children, this session focuses on two: the stories we can see through data, and the stories we learn through the social and emotional aspects of giftedness. Participants will learn how data from a variety of assessments can be useful in planning lessons and activities for gifted children. However, data is just one part of a gifted child’s story. The session will also explore social-emotional aspects of giftedness, including the challenges in peer relationships, stress, anxiety, and perfectionism, and how these can impact not only a child’s personal life but also academic life. Participants should bring curriculum maps and any recent and upcoming classroom and/or common assessments, as well as a device, for use during hands-on time to brainstorm and plan lessons and activities to support gifted children.
