Addressing the Twin Challenges of Teen Suicide/Self-injury and Eating Disorders
Presented by Dr. Lucene Wisniewski
October 20, 2017
Summit ESC
This one-day program provides a deep dive into the twin challenges of teen suicide/self-injury and eating disorders, an increasingly common behavior among high school-aged youth. Suicidal behavior appears to be on the rise, with teen suicide being the second leading cause of death in youth between the ages of 10-19. A recent report by the Centers for Disease Control indicated that the rate of attempted suicide in the city of Cleveland was one of the highest IN THE COUNTRY. Facilitated by nationally-known clinician, Dr. Lucene Wisniewski.

In a highly interactive session, Dr. Wisniewski will provide attendees with skills to recognize early warning signs and symptoms to ensure that our teenagers receive the help they need. Dr. Wisniewski is the 2013 winner of the Academy of Eating Disorders Outstanding Clinician Award. She has “natural ease and ability to be totally honest without a hint of judgment.” “A genius at navigating the science-practice gap.” “Most fun workshop leader.”
