Welcome to the TOPS Program!
What is the TOPS Program?
The TOPS Program uses functional life skills approach while incorporating the Ohio New Learning Standards. Students will gain independence in the TOPS Living Lab, an apartment-styled classroom located on site, in which students will learn life skills:
- Planning and creating meals
- Housekeeping skills
Students explore various job opportunities during daily vocational lab. Skills are then generalized to unpaid school jobs. As the student makes progress in their job development they will be placed, with support, in the community completing internships leading to paid positions.
TOPS IS DESIGNED FOR the student diagnosed with Autism who is of transitional age. The program provides students with the academic, vocational and life skills necessary to promote independence.
